Melissa is a life long artist from Lexington, Kentucky. Inspired by the beauty of existence, all aspects of the journey, dark and light.  With unending universal potential, her art is visionary. Some of her accomplishments include traveling for henna events, teaching henna workshops, winning costume contests, winning Dragon Master in Amptguard, a successful Etsy shop, working with PlayThink festival, The Lexington Design Collective, and Woodcraft Lexington.

 

Sublime Conception is a new manifestation of Melissa's artistic vision.

 

Formerly Volcano Henna, established in 1999.  Melissa has been providing services for events, parties, bridal mehindi, private appointments, fundraising events, library programs, drum heads, silk, leather and, tattoo design. Aside from the technical aspects of applying henna paste, there is a healing and wellness aspect. Applying and receiving henna is a meditation for both parties and incredibly relaxing.

Her hopes for the future as an artist is to continue doing henna, woodworking, leatherwork, and costuming to support her family.  Woodworking and leatherwork have taken her heart most recently and keep her quite busy.​
