Aftercare Instructions

  • After the henna paste has been applied it will take 15-30 minutes to dry completely.

  • Leave the paste on for  a minimum of 4 hours for optimal staining.  Up to 8 hours.

  • Scrape or pick the paste off.  Never wash with soap and water as there are still staining properties on the skin.

  • Apply a vegetable based oil to the skin to seal it and protect it while the stain is developing.  Aka~ olive oil, coconut oil

  • The stain will be a bright and often light toned orange stain depending on where the henna design is on the body.  It takes 24-48 hours for the stain to darken to the reddish brown to burgundy color.  The closer to the torso the lighter the tone of the stain.  The closer to the palms of the hands feet the darker the tone of the stain.  Individual body chemistry also plays a role in the stain tone as well as each crop off henna.  Click here for stain progression pics.

  • To help your henna stain last, do not exfoliate.  Wash lightly.  Don't scrub it.  Pat dry with a towel when wet.

  • The design will last 1-3 weeks depending on aftercare and location.
